Two Exceptionally Cool Karambit Knife Tricks For Newbies
Karambit may not look much fun if you are at the receiving end of this deadly knife, but for some knife enthusiasts it is a way to pass time, kills boredom and risks getting minor cuts on your wrist. Karambit knife tricks are dangerous but if you practice with a dull blade, they can be a lot of fun.
For beginners, you need to understand the basics of karambit knife tricks before moving on to more complex transitional tricks. Here are two amazing knife tricks for you to practice.
Why Karambit Knife For Tricks?
So, you must be wondering why are we teaching karambit knife tricks? Was this the original purpose of the knife? No. But that does not mean that the knife wasn’t used for some speedy moves by the filipino martial art experts.
In fact, most fighting tactics that karambits were used in were very similar to what we call karambit knife tricks. The quick spinning, flipping and revolving of the knife from the finger ring is the basis of the karambit fights as well as tricks.
1- The Grips (Forward And Reverse)
If you are just starting out learning karambit knife tricks, it is prudent to learn the various gripping techniques first. These grips form the basic foundation for advanced level tricks and you will be lucky if you can master those tricks.
The first karambit knife trick is called the forward grip. The main idea is to hold the knife in a way that the sharp downward slanting edge is facing the opposite side of your body. Like it faces the wall if you are standing opposite the wall.
The second karambit knife trick also requires you to master the reverse grip. In this grip, you will be holding the karambit with the sharp edge facing towards you. With the finger ring hooked onto your thumb or index finger, you can do various karambit flips and spins with this grip.
2- The 8 Loop
This move is not that difficult to execute but it is probably difficult to teach. If you are new to karambit knife tricks, then you must know a bit flipping already. Then start off mastering the grips mentioned above and get ready to pull this move afterwards.
This karambit knife trick requires a lot of flow and follows an eighth pattern. If you screw up the flow you will notice it right away because it will simply bring the combo to a stop. You’re going to do this opening slanted and then going sideways and then down and then up.
This karambit knife trick looks like how the number eight looks. First you need to hold the knife in a forward grip and flip the knife sideways. Your knife should dangle 1/8th of the way up your thumb or whichever finger you are using to hold on to the knife.
The second bit of this karambit knife trick is to go downwards from sideways. This will require you to master the reverse grip because after flipping the knife it will sit backwards in your fingers. The downwards part is probably the riskiest since the sharp edge can cut you or fall off and hurt your feet or scratch the face.
The last part of this cool karambit knife trick is going upwards. Just remember the rhythm of sideways then downwards and finally upwards. This bit will requite karambit knife spinning to complete the move.
We know that pulling advanced karambit knife tricks is extremely dangerous and tricky but that doesn’t mean you can’t try out these basic and easy tricks at your home.
